Lautrer Mai-Kerwe 2022 (Kaiserslautern Carnival) May, 20th- 30th 2022 and Shopping Sunday, May 22nd

After a two-year pandemic break, the time has finally come – the Maikerwe at the Kaiserslautern fairground invites you to visit again! From 20th to 30th May.

Traditionally, the Lautrer Kerwe will begin at 5:00 p.m. on the first day of the festival and at 6:30 p.m there will be a Marching band at the gate to the Schwarzwaldstraße with its procession over the Kerweplatz. The festival will then be officially opened at 7:00 p.m. with the traditional tapping of the keg in the festival tent of the Jäkel family.

As usual, the Maikerwe 2022 will again feature numerous spectacular rides for plenty of action and fun.

In the cozy beer gardens, bistros, tents and at numerous snack stands, there is everything from Bratwurst to Palatine specialties and culinary delicacies that the visitor’s stomach desires. Also in the Shopping-Gässje are offered traditionally typical Kerwe-stuff such as spices, household goods, clothes and handmade goods.

Wednesday, May 25th, is a big family day with half-price rides and many special offers. Free face painting for children and a balloon artist will keep the youngest ones in a good mood.

 

The Kerwe is open on May 20th from 17:00 to 01:00 a. m. , from Saturday to Sunday from 14:00 to 01:00 a. m.. On Sundays and german holidays the Kerweplatz opens from 13:00 to 23:00, on the other weekdays from 14:00 to 23:00. Accompanying the Lautrer Kerwe on the fairground, the stores in the city center and the commercial areas invite you to an Shopping Sunday on May 22 from 13:00 to 18:00.
